The Useful Box

Yes, I've been busy getting some work together for a new exhibition in a spot called Love and Death. Its on Anne St. in Belfast on the 8th December.. Lyndon Stevens and Dom Small will be supplying the beats and as per usual a few other DJs are likely to muck in. It's the venues first ever art exhibition and should be a good night out given good numbers. So get your arses down!
Over and out.

Secret Wars

Heres what we did at Secret Wars. Had a great laugh at this event. It was David McClelland, Bore and myself on the Belfast team up against the very talented Glasgow team consisting of Vues1, Jack Douglas and Conzo...
We Decided to poke fun at everything Glasgow With Rab C Nesbitt (working class hero) doing a graff piece on Sauchiehall St. with a depiction of the affectionate stereo type of a Ned. It seemed to work in our favor as Belfast won 2-1..

Belfast vs Glasgow (secret Wars)

Saturday 20 November, 9pm
Black Box Belfast, Hill Street
£5 on the door

Secret Wars has travelled across the globe, spread by word of mouth and taking place in darkened bars, from New York to Tokyo. The world’s premier art battle returns to Belfast this Saturday with a special competition between Belfast and Glasgow.

Secret Wars is like a Fight Club for artists, where teams go head-to-head to fill up a white wall with nothing but skill and black markers. The Glasgow team is made up three renowned Scottish street artists – Jack Douglas, Conzo and Vues One. The Belfast team boasts Kev Largey, aka KVLR, David McClelland and Morgy. Each team has 90 minutes to prove themselves with winners being decided by crowd reaction and the judging panel.

One of Belfast’s best-loved club nights, Hydroponic Hi-Fi, provide the soundtrack to the evening: Top Ranking Reggae featuring selector Michael McKeown and live vocals from MC Krow. Hydroponic Hi-Fi cover all angles of Reggae – dub to dancehall and rocksteady to roots, with a sprinkling of ska for good measure.

Stencils

OK, I've been working on some new stuff for an exhibition in December.. The place is called Love and Death and I'm attempting to accumulate all the skills from my life so far to do something a wee bit special.
Here's something a bit more design orientated - This is the first draft of a stencil which will develop in time.
I'll announce the date, exact location a little bit later.
Peace.

Christmas 200

Here's another image from the Christmas 200 show at Canvas.. More info on the show in the previous post.

Lets get started

Good stuff, I've managed to create a blog finally. My old website has become a bit tired and dated so I'm attempting to use this as a tool for updating progress in my work and posting info on events, exhibitions and that kind of stuff in a more efficient kind of way..

Here's 1 of 4 little canvas I did for a show in Canvas Gallery on the Stranmillis road in Belfast. The show is called the christmas 200.. It features 200 paintings from 100 artists and runs until the 18th December 2010. Seriously, there's some really nice work down there, all canvases are £250 and for each canvas sold £50 goes to Headway, the brain injury charity.
